Grammy nominated artist from Essex, England, Imogen Heap is infamous for her quirky, eclectic stage presence, as well as her Europop-driven, electronica-tinged indie music. Signing with Almo Sounds in 1997, Heap made her musical debut in 1998 with I Megaphone. When Heap found herself without a record deal, she embarked on a joint project with her former producer, Guy Sigworth (who has worked with major artists like Madonna, Bjork, and Seal), to produce Details (2002) under the project name, Frou Frou. With her acclaim spreading internationally to the United States and Japan, Heap returned to her solo project, releasing Speak for Yourself in 2005. In 2006, Heap received two Grammy nominations, one for Best New Artist and the other for Best Song Written For Motion Picture, Television Or Other Visual Media for “Can't Take It In.”
Imogen Heap’s music has been featured internationally on myriad media broadcasts (movies, commercials, and television shows, alike), including The O.C., Garden State, So You Think You Can Dance, The Chronicles of Narnia, as well as Verizon Wireless and Apple commercials. Due to her critical acclaim as an artist, Heap’s performance in the film brings a strong, unique voice to the voiceless. She has been nominated for two Grammy Awards: Best New Artists and Best Song Written For A Motion Picture.
